Community Liaison
Waste Control Specialists LLC
Location: Andrews, Texas

The Community Liaison is the face of the WCS (“company”) in the community – specifically Andrews, Texas and Hobbs, New Mexico, but also throughout the Permian Basin. This position reports to the Vice President of Government and Regulatory Affairs (VP GRA) but also works closely with the Sr VP/General Manager at the site. This position acts as a liaison between the community and company, represents the company’s mission, and furthers the business lines by gaining local understanding and support for continued and new projects.

o Acts as the representative for the company in the Permian Basin, including meeting with community members, verbal communications with community members, and serving as a liaison between the community and the site/corporate office;
o Develops and implements objectives, strategies and project plans for the company’s continued good relationship with local stakeholders;
o Meets with elected officials and representatives of local groups on behalf of the company;
o Continually screens active issues within the community and local media and ensures concerns are handled in a responsive manner;
o Handles special assignments and projects;
o Works well under pressure and handles stress;
o Speaks to local groups upon request;
o Responds to community telephone calls and mail;
o Maintains close communication with the site and corporate office;
o Travels throughout the Permian basin at regular intervals to keep abreast of local concerns and happenings;
o Works a flexible schedule including long hours, nights and weekends;
o Lives in Andrews, Texas or is willing to relocate; and
o Performs other duties as assigned.

At least 5 years of experience; strong academic credentials.

o Strong oral and written communication skills;
o Thorough knowledge of Permian Basin, specifically Andrews, Texas and Hobbs, New Mexico;
o Knowledge of local, state and federal agencies and departments;
o Ability to simplistically articulate complex issues;
o Ability to work with community members who may or may not agree with the company’s position of various matters;
o Temperament to communicate with a variety of personalities in a tactful, pleasant, and professional manner.
o Proficiency in social media platforms and the ability to generate content on behalf of the company, with direction from the Vice President of Government and Regulatory Affairs;
o Proficiency in word processing;
o Bi-lingual in English and Spanish preferred; and
o Ability to perform essential job functions above.

o Work is mainly performed between the field and the Andrews office;
o Field duties require work during regular office hours and some nights and weekends. Additionally, employee must be able to travel 50% of time within the Permian Basin, hold a valid driver’s license, and possess a reliable vehicle; and
o Work independently.
